The Endless Crusade is a Horus Heresy (30K) Gaming group currently operating from Kansas City, In the Midwestern United States. Officially Founded in August of 2016 with Four original members, we are a small group that has grown increasingly disillusioned with the state of Warhammer 40k and its community, because everything taken too seriously becomes seriously rotten. ( You Hear Me Nurgle!)
Why "The Endless Crusade"? Well to be honest, It was a name that was pulled out of the air by myself, whilst staring at a blank computer screen after 20 minutes. I feel that it is a good representation of what we aim for, as far as following the 30k fluff and its path throughout 'history', without being to Over the Top for a group name.
Despite being a gaming group, and while we are mostly former Tournament Gamers, this is going to be a radical departure from that mind set. The 'Hardcore' lists that beat the fluff over its head and steal its lunch money have seriously wounded the state of the game for us and the flavor of the Month 'in-it-only-to-win-it' mentality is just not where we want to be. That is why for me personally the Horus Heresy and its gaming material have been such a big second wind for most of us, and what I consider a blessing. Allowing us as a group to Return to the Fluff and be rewarded for it, rather than punished.
We love the fluff, and this gives us that world where Our Battles Matter, and bring life back to our gaming boards through Themed armies, bitter rivalries (only on the table of course!) and those oh so important stories around the conflicts.
Taking our Ques from our friends the Battle Bunnies (On of the Best 30k Blogs around), We have finally struck out in order to help build form and maintain a 30K presence in the Midwestern United States.
Currently we are focused solely on the Horus Heresy as far as gaming is concerned, though the tips and hobby articles we present will be more than useful in all facets of Warhammer, and Wargaming in genera, from painting techniques to Terrain ideas. As time goes forward, and we gather more and more members, We will begin our own Long term campaign, taking us all the way from the Great Crusade to the End of the Heresy and the Scouring, doing our absolute best to stick as close to the story and timeline as we can while still keeping things interesting.
We will also be supplementing this project through our Facebook page, in order to help facilitate gaming events, Campaigns, and more!
